For plants that grow in a climate room under HPS light, the quality of the light leaves much to be desired. Plants have evolved under sunlight for millions of years and a balanced full spectrum light, including UVA and UVB, is the best they can get. Enter plasma technology. 

Our Light Emitting Plasma (LEP) fixture is available as a full spectrum source, almost exactly like the sun, or as a supplemental spectrum to fill in the spectrum that HPS lacks. Both include UVA and UVB by using a UV transmitting glass filter. With a lifetime of 30,000 (full spectrum) to 50,000 hours (supplemental spectrum) the Gavita Pro 270e LEP ensures great return of investment. In fact on high value crops you earn it back within two crop cycles. HPS is still a great light source as it is very efficient, but you need quantity and quality. HPS is for quantity, plasma is for quality. 

Compliance and safety

The reflector is equipped with the fine wire mesh filter preventing EMI so it fully complies with FCC, UL and CE standards. All our products are manufactured according to the highest horticultural standards. 

Suitable for Gavita Master Controller 

All our Pro line e-series fixtures are suitable for the Gavita Master Controller. Now you can centrally control your HPS and plasma fixtures with one simple push of a button: switch, dim and boost your HPS fixtures and switch your LEP fixtures. You can control up to 80 e-series fixtures with one controller, or expand that number to hundreds with our B200 booster.

  • Complete fixture
    The integration of ballast and reflector results in a compact fixture. No external lamp wires results in low EMI, which makes it easier to comply with FCC regulations. All our fixtures are FCC compliant.
  • Horticultural design

    Our fixture is not a contraption of a remote ballast and reflector: it is a fixture designed as a complete fixture. The high quality white coating is durable and UV resistant. All the terminals are sealed with gaskets and contact and terminals are high quality.

  • Balanced fixture

    The fixture is balanced, so it can be mounted by just two hanging points. This enables much easier installation by brackets from C-profiles for example.

  • FCC compliant

    All our fixtures are FCC approved. No fake Chinese certificates: our FCC certificates are from a US lab and all our boxes include an official declaration of conformity with report number. Our retail fixtures are FCC class B compliant, our industrial fixtures minimal FCC class A. We check our production by sampling, and measure the EMI in our own test room for continuing compliance. FCC approval however does not mean that there is no EMI: it just confirms that they are within the legal limits.

  • No moving parts, optimal thermal management

    Our ballasts are completely sealed and passively cooled through the extrusion aluminum ballast housing. Our housings provide optimized thermal management, which keeps the electronics much cooler than in die-cast housings. Good thermal management is extremely important for the lifetime and reliability of the electronics.

  • Miro aluminum reflector

    Our HR96 reflector is made of a very high grade Miro aluminum which provides optimal reflectance of light to your crop. This is the reflector of choice for horticultural growers world-wide, to provide uniform light in an overlapping plan with great plant penetration from all sides. The reflector is a medium wide reflector, providing optimal horizontal penetration of the crop. Remember: the sun is never straight above plants, they do need light at an angle for optimal penetration.

  • Suitable for Gavita Master Controllers

    Our e-series ballasts can be remote controlled by our Gavita Master Controllers. They replace your timers and contactors, and put you in full control of your ballasts. You can centrally adjust the output of your ballasts, even with sunrise and sunset settings. Moreover they protect your crop by two temperature safety features: When you climate control is not able to maintain the optimal temperature your master controller will automatically dim your lights. In case of a climate control failure they will switch off your lights, protecting your valuable crop and preventing overheating problems.

  • Plug & Play installation (copy)

    Connect your fixtures to the master controller with the standard controller cables provided with the controller and the fixture. It’s all plug and play: you do not need a screwdriver. Gavita provides original accessories if you require replacements or different length controller cables.

Where to buy

Recommended use 

  1. Only use the full spectrum LEP (41.02 GROW) for high quality sunlight simulation, for example for preserving genetics.  
  2. For all other uses we recommend a combination of supplemental LEP (41.01 SUP) and HPS, according to the following table:

Typical applications for 750W lamps are vegetative rooms, combinations with plasma lighting, smaller rooms with lower intensity and rooms with a limited distance to the crop. 
Gavita was the first to introduce a 750W double ended lamp and fixture for horticulture, increasing the efficiency of single ended 750W fixtures by about 20-30%. They are now the standard in horticultural lighting for 750W systems. 
Gavita pioneered the use of double ended lamps in this industry. These professional lamps offer you the highest output and light maintenance in the market today. Backed by decades of horticultural experience, Gavita recommends these lamps for use in her professional fixtures in horticulture. 
Our DE lamps output 15-35% more PAR light than traditional single ended lamps and have a much better light maintenance, which means that you only have to change your lamps once a year. 
The double ended construction enables the arc tube to be in stable the center of your reflector, for optimal optical placement. No more sagging heavy lamps in your reflector that destroy the throw of your fixture.  The absence of a frame wire further increases the output and uniformity. 
The  narrow lamp reduces interference with reflected light from the reflector. It is nitrogen filled instead of vacuum, allowing the arc tube to be smaller while maintaining the correct arc tube temperature. You should not use our double ended lamps in direct air cooled fixtures, as they cool under the optimal temperature, reducing the output considerable. 
The smaller arc tube results in a higher light density than single ended lamps, improving the penetration of your crop.
