Retail and indoor projects

About Gavita

Gavita is the largest specialized horticultural lighting company in the world. We are active on all five continents with projects ranging from single fixtures to large greenhouses with well over 100,000 fixtures, serving the retail, research and professional horticultural market.

How it's made

We made a short video in our production facility in Aalsmeer to give you an idea how we produce thousands of fixtures each week.

Here, the pre-fabricated components are put together and the fixtures are tested and packaged for distribution all over the world.

What we do

Our roots are in horticulture, but since 2010 we have a strong focus on retail too.
We develop products for residential and small business use, but we also support projects in new markets.

Our products have become an industry standard. Often copied, but never surpassed, we keep setting the standard for professional products and services.

As a market leader, we constantly innovate, but we will never bring products to the market which are not tested and proven in real life scenarios.
This is why Gavita products are the gold standard in lighting with unsurpassed reliability, the lowest cost of ownership and the best return on investment.

Retail

Retail

Our focus on retail goes much further than just bringing products suitable for residential voltages. Our professional documentation, educational services, support and retailer services are aimed at providing an experience.

We go the extra mile in educating our retailers and end-users, enabling them to make informed decisions about lighting.

Whether it is in-store displays, digital interactive signage, instructional videos, support of your events, sales training or seminars: you can count on Gavita to help you become successful as a distributor, retailer or end user.

Projects

Projects

We support our retailers in large (commercial) projects. We offer project management, light calculations, drop shipments, consultancy and introduce possible partners. In horticulture our customers are used to doing direct business with Gavita.

We never lose touch with our retailers, who are always rewarded for their groundbreaking work in new markets. Whether they were involved in the project or not.

Some of our innovations

Miro® aluminum reflectors

Until 2002 reflectors were made of anodized aluminum. This material has a limited reflectance and is very sensitive to contamination and subsequent light losses.

With the introduction of the HR96 reflector made from Miro® aluminum, Gavita set new standards in efficiency, light uniformity and light maintenance.

Wieland connectors

A greenhouse is a harsh environment for electrical equipment. Corrosive liquids, high humidity, dripping water, pesticides, sulphur and full sunlight exposure require sturdy and reliable electrical connections.

Gavita introduced Wieland RST connectors on their fixtures as an alternative to internal screw terminals in 2006. This set the standard for secure connections and ease of installation.

Plasma lighting

Gavita is the market leader in high-quality plasma lighting for horticulture. We have been pioneering the use of Light Emitting Plasma for high-quality lighting since 2009.

We provide full spectrum and supplemental plasma lighting for horticulture, special projects, indoor grow rooms and aquatics all over the world.

Customers include breeders, researchers and commercial growers.

240V double ended fixtures

In 2010, we introduced the first double ended HPS fixture for 240V. This started a grow revolution in hydroponics. Since then Gavita double ended fixtures have become the market standard.

Many growers nowadays even refer to the style of fixtures as “Gavitas”. This design has been copied by dozens of manufacturers. We have become the “Hoover” of hydroponics lighting solutions.

Gavita Pro 6-750 EL DE FLEX

750W double ended HPS lamp and fixture

There is a huge gap between 600W and 1000W HPS fixtures. In many cases, a 600W lamp is not powerful enough, or by the sheer amount needed too expensive, while a 1000W lamp would be overkill. The 750W single ended lamps, however, were large and not very efficient.

We introduced the first efficient 750W double ended lamp in 2013. This closed the gap between 600 and 1000W and provide a much better solution for many indoor facilities.
